Daily Self-Screening
Carson City School District wants everyone to be and stay safe. For the health and well-being of those around you, ASK these questions EVERY DAY BEFORE leaving your home.
Have YOU or ANYONE in your household had any of these symptoms in the last 24 hours?
New respiratory symptoms* (cough and/or shortness of breath)
Vomiting and/or diarrhea
Fever (temperature of >100.4°F at rest)
Loss of smell or taste*
Two or more of these symptoms*
Sore throat
Headache
Muscle pain or body aches
Chills
Abdominal pain
Fatigue
*New symptoms are different than symptoms of on-going health issues such as asthma, allergies, reflux, or COPD.
Stay Home If you answer YES to any of these:
Do NOT go to school/work. (You and everyone in your home should isolate at home until cleared to return to school/work).
Contact your school/supervisor.
Call your healthcare provider or Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) COVID-19 Hotline 775-283-4789.
If you answer NO to All of these:
Go to school/work.
Continue to monitor your health daily.
Additionally, if YOU or ANYONE in your household:
Is Waiting for COVID-19 test results;
Is DIAGNOSED with COVID-19 by TESTING POSITIVE;
Is DIAGNOSED with COVID-19 by a healthcare provider but is NOT TESTED;
Has been told by CCHHS TO ISOLATE; or
Has SYMPTOMS (above), has NOT SEEN a healthcare provider, has NOT BEEN TESTED, and is monitoring symptoms at home.
THEN:
YOU or SOMEONE in your household has or may have COVID-19:
Do NOT go to school/work.
Communicate with your school/supervisor.
Visit CCHHS online for information: GetHealthyCarsonCity.org.
You and everyone in your household must ISOLATE at home until
Everyone is symptom free (without medication) for 1 day (24 hours) AND
At least 10 days have passed since the first symptom. (The 10-day period starts over each time someone in the household shows symptoms).
If you or anyone in your household have been exposed to a close contact who is positive for COVID-19 or you have other COVID-19 related questions, please contact the CCHHS COVID-19 Hotline at 775-283-4789.

If your child needs special health care or medication during school time, please follow the School Medication Policy or contact the school nurse for more information at 283-1003.
If your student stays home please remember to contact the school attendance line at 283-1000 to excuse your child’s absence.
