Employee Referral Incentive Award

You already work for the best school district in the State of Nevada, now you can earn incentive awards while helping our district family grow! If you know someone who would be a good addition to Carson City School District (CCSD), you may be awarded a referral incentive of $1,000 (less taxes) by referring a candidate who is successfully hired in a benefitted certified or classified position and remains with the district for 6 months or longer with satisfactory job performance. You can earn a $1,000 incentive for each referral! 

The CCSD Strategic Plan includes a goal to “attract, recruit, develop and retain effective staff for all positions.” 
  • Increasing new employee retention.
  • Improving employee morale.
  • Improving the cultural fit of new hires, thereby reducing turnover and streamlining onboarding.
Anticipated outcomes of the employee referral incentive program include:
  • Lowering overall recruiting costs.
  • Reducing the time-to-hire for external candidates.
  • Better targeting and sourcing of passive job seekers.
  •  Deepening the pipeline of potential applicants.

Employee Referral Incentive Award Rules:
  • To be eligible for an incentive award, an employee must submit a referral to Carson City School District (CCSD) Human Resources (HR) with a candidate referral form (online via Google Form or by printing the form and submitting to HR).
  • All CCSD employees, including active substitute employees, except Executive Cabinet level and managers with hiring authority over the referred candidates, are eligible for incentive awards.
  • The referral date cannot be earlier than the date the job opening is posted. The hiring of a referred employee must occur within 180 days (six months) of the initial referral date.
  • The referral must represent the candidate's first contact with CCSD.
  • Temporary, summer, contract and former employees of CCSD are not eligible candidates for incentive awards.
  • Employees who attend recruiting fairs are not eligible for the incentive award if the new hired employee was recruited from the fair.
  • The referring employee must agree to have his or her name used when the HR contacts the candidate.
  • The first employee to refer a candidate will be the only referring employee eligible for the incentive award.
  • Only candidates who meet the essential qualifications for the position will be considered.
  • All candidates will be evaluated for employment consistent with CCSD policies and procedures.
  • All information regarding the hiring decision will remain strictly confidential.
  • The referring employee must be employed by CCSD to receive payment of the referral incentive.
  • Any disputes or interpretations of this employee referral program will be handled through HR.
  • All referral incentive awards will be paid after the referred employee's 120th day of employment at CCSD. 
  •  Employees are eligible to receive multiple incentive awards for referring multiple employees who are successfully employed within the parameters of the award.
