Work-based learning within the Carson City School District is described as an educational strategy that offers all students the opportunity to connect classroom learning to business and industry experiences. Click here to view our informational video.

The work-based learning program incorporates four components: academic alignment, employer engagement, connection to employment or career choice, and preparation or pursuit of industry-recognized credentials.

The continuum of experiences provided through the schools is in partnership with employers and community or governmental organizations in accordance with NRS 389.167 and the 2017 Carson City School District Strategic Plan, Goal #5: A Community in Full Partnership.

Opportunities for partnerships in the work-based learning continuum range from guest speaking, participating in career fairs, mock interviews, providing industry tours, job shadowing,
and internship opportunities.
